Your girl is back, alive and revived!
We are midway through the summer you guys! I don’t know about you or where you are, but my HEAVENS it is hot outside.
I often think, “What’s the point!” when it comes to makeup during this time of year. The sun is ruthless and does not care about how much your foundation costs, your new Royal Crown lashes you’re dying to wear, or how much time it took you to beat your face to the Gods. Even if your makeup isn’t melted off your face by the sun, I’ll be the first makeup blogger to admit that wearing makeup in the summer time sucks and its uncomfortable. I can wipe the sweat of my brow without wiping off my actual brow itself!
“So why do you have a summer makeup routine?” you ask…
I refuse to let the heat keep me from getting cute(r) when I feel the need to or an occasion (like a wedding or event) arises. Though this routine uses very little product, and takes 5-10 minutes once you mastered it, you still come out looking just as gorgeous as the girl with a full 45 minute face. To be honest, I receive more compliments off this look than I every have when I’m in full glam.
Products used in the video include:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown:
I love ABH Brow wiz because their pencils create the most natural brow. No matter how much you build the product, or press down on the brow for a harsher line…its still maintains a very natural finish.
Lancòme 24 Hour Wear Foundation in shade 460 Suede:
This is my NEW Holy Grail foundation and totally had me kick my M.A.C Studio Fix to the curb. Now, don’t get me wrong I still love my SF, but for now…in the summer I prefer the light, dewy, airbrush effect that the 24 hr wear has on my skin. If your looking for a new foundation…give this one a shot.
L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Cool Tan:
If you have yet to give this concealer a chance, I need you to get over yourself and do so. This product has to be one of the best out there. Not only in its price range, because it trumps some of my high end brands with ease. One drop goes a very long way, also, work quickly because it drys/sets very fast. When using this product, I’ve never had to touch up under my eyes…EVER!
Ben Nye Setting Powder in Banana:
If you are unfamiliar with Ben Nye’s Banana Powder, you’ve been under a rock. If you are new to makeup, I get it. Trust me! Add this to your collection now.
This contour/highlighting duo is definitely a summer must have and KEY to achieving this glow I have. It’s truly too gorgeous for words.
M.A.C Matte Runway Hit Lipstick w/ Cork Lipliner:
As soon as I swatched Runway Hit in my video, Lip Stick Files: The MATTE Lip I knew it would be a new favorite. Not just during the summer, but forever! lol. It matches the natural hue of my lips perfectly.
Welp, enough of all that. Check out the tutorial below and let me know what you think in the comments (here on the blog or on YouTube).
