Boy, does Make Up For Ever know how to deliver when it comes to packaging. With everything I receive from them there’s always a “WOW!” effect and they never let me down. Unlike most beauty bloggers, I am a full-time Professional Makeup Artist (Bee Wade Makeup Artistry) and yes that was a little shameless plug. *wink wink* With that said I’m able to review these kinds of items as the professor and the student. MUFE will always be one of my favorite brands because they (from what I can remember) have always had brown girls covered. I’ve never seen anyone or blog, etc beg or roast them for not including us in their shade range. Black girls love makeup and every brand should have shades from Tracy Ellis Ross to Lupita Nyong’o. So, I’m taking a moment to just say thanks to the brand for looking out for us.
Make Up For Ever’s NEW Artist Face Colors ($23 each) carry a wide range of shades to “Highlight, Sculpt and Blush” the face. Its a refillable palette system that can hold 1, 2 or 3 powders. Making it easy to add to your daily routine. Great for trave as well! See image below…
“…customizable and magnetized cases that can hold any refill item with a magnetic base (Artist Shadow, Artist Face Color Sculpting Powders, Blushes, Highlighters, etc.” – www.makeupforever.com
These palettes are Ah-mazing! So sturdy, compact and chic. Though I will not test this theory, I honestly wound’t be afraid if I dropped it. They feel so safe in the palette, I trust it to protect the product. I have 3 of each (highlighters, sculpt and blush powders) to show you, so lets get into these swatches.
If you’ve been following me for sometime or have watched my youtube channel, you’d know that MUFE is one of my favorites when it come to highlighters. Again, I am a Full-Time Makeup Artist so yes, the first two colors (see image above) are slightly ashy on me, but I can tell they’d be perfect for my clients of fair skin. I can not wait to slap h302 on a chocolate girl. Its going to be so beautiful. If this highlight had a name I would be melanin or goddess!
I’m loving the texture of the sculpting powders, super smooth and a dream when it comes to blending. As you can see the shades don’t show up to well on my skin tone. Again, they’ll be find for my lighter clients. At this point I was feeling some type of way. Did MUFE for get about us this time? So I did go on the website and found there was a sculpting shade darker than the one pictured above. If you’re a chocolate girl check out shade s502, however do know it appears to be a shimmery finish. Can we get deeper shades in a matte, velvety finish though?
The. Blush. Is. Everything. Especially b402! What a beauty. When I dip my brush into vibrant colors like this my clients eyes get so big and say, “What are you going to do with that?” Slap it on your face, duh. *lol* While this color is extremely intimidating for the everyday woman, once its applied they fall in love. So if you’re a brown girl, grab that red/orange blush, don’t be scared. You’ll be mad at yourself for denying yourself of its beauty for so long. These shades are for us!
Over all, another great product by Make Up For Ever. I’ll be stopping by Sephora to play with the other colors I don’t have. I want to make sure there is a sculpting shade for everyone. Outside the of that the highlighters and blushes are gorgeous, velvety and build-able! So go on ahead and use them as eyeshadow as well.
I hope you enjoyed this review. What’s you’re favorite MUFE product and will you be giving their New Artist Face Colors a try? Chime in below.
