Ever since I posted this picture on my Instagram last week, I’ve received tons of questions about Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. S/N Anyone else waiting for RiRi to drop more shades? I most definitely am. Before I get into my review, check out this swatch video:
Is it really matte?
Trust me, I wasn’t a believer either which is why I took the plunge and purchased this product to try for myself. Uncensored has the look of a matte lipstick, without the super drying finish. Which some find to be a con, but I find to be one of its pros. It’s refreshingly comfortable to wear.
Does it transfer?
Yes, it does. This is not a kiss proof, last over dinner type of lipstick and that (to me) is also okay. Lipsticks are like friends. You have the turn-up friend, the praying friend, the brutally honest friend, etc. and you know which one to go to when you’re in a mood. Lipsticks are the same. As long as you use to categorize your beauty items based on your needs and have realistic expectations of what it can or can not do you will love them as is! I know better than to put this lipstick on before dinner, but after? It’s on! This is going to be my turn-up lipstick for dancing and light sipping after a good meal.
Will it look good on me since it’s not a blue-based red?
As a beauty lover and Pro Makeup Artist, I say it’s up to how much work you feel like doing. What I love about makeup is that it can be manipulated. Is the lipstick too cool? Add some warmth with a lip liner. I’m not wearing any liner in the image above, and I must admit I was a little afraid of it myself. It’s so vibrant, but after a few minutes my eyes adjusted to the color and I fell in love with it. If you try it (with realistic expectations), knowing that it’s not a true matte finish, and it can transfer a bit I think you will too. You get the matte look, without severe dryness or discomfort. Its a total win for me!
Fenty Beauty’s Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Candy Venom is the vibrant pink my life’s been missing. Oh now’s a good time to tell you that Fenty Beauty featured my swatch video of this shade on their Instagram. When I tell y’all….I. DIED. In Cardi B’s voice * “Look at me, Look at me!”
I honestly don’t know what to say about the Mattemoiselle formula that I haven’t about Stunna Lip Paint. The colors are vibrant, with the look of a matte finish without the dryness/ discomfort. One thing I will say was different between the two is that I ate with Candy Venom on my lips. I forgot to blot some of the product off so it was a little messy. However, when I finished eating I pulled out my compact to touch up my lips I found I didn’t need to. I saw so much product on my napkin and on my fork, but for some reason, the color on my lip wasn’t compromised. It was like a beautiful lip stain that when the time came was easily removed.
In my opinion, Fenty Beauty is KILLING the lipstick game. The colors are vibrant, the packaging has you quick to whip out it out the moment someone asks, “What’s that on your lips?” and they are extremely comfortable to wear. So, no they’re not a true matte (as far as the finish) but I’m not going to let that stop me from wearing them. Damn Rihanna, I really don’t need any more lipsticks but you got me! I can not WAIT for her to release more shades of the Stunna Lip Paints. Now we wait…
Beauty Prayer: “Lord, I know this is selfish and there are more important things happening in the world. BUT, ya GIRL needs to be on Fenty Beauty’s PR List. I mean…I hear you care about even the small desires of our hearts. Bless me indeed.” – Amen
Until Next time,
